Through the creative use of CIMENTO®, Urquiola’s installation represents the intersection of nature and technology, artifice and environment. Made from natural components, the material becomes a medium for expressing the fusion of tradition and modernity, highlighting Italy’s unique ability to blend creativity with environmental responsibility.
The sculpture takes the form of a towering totem composed of four carefully stacked cubes, reaching a height of 10 meters on a 2.4-meter base. A subtle ‘now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t’ effect is achieved through CIMENTO®’s spray application, giving the grid a textured, ever-changing surface.
In this way, Patricia Urquiola’s EL PARON – WISTERIA TOWER becomes a powerful embodiment of the core themes presented by INTERNI Cross Vision.
“El Paron” a Venetian dialect term affectionately meaning “the master” traditionally refers to a church bell tower, a tall structure that commands the landscape. With a name that recalls the iconic Campanile of St. Mark’s in Venice, the installation offers visitors an immersive and visually striking experience.
